■Mr. Nigel Tantrum

I am originally from England, have lived in Japan for over 10 years now and have a Japanese wife. Perhaps surprisingly I have only learned about ten words of Japanese in that time but as a result I am well able to survive in Japan without talking - an important skill for the average tourist.
I was firstly interested primarily in the anthropology of the Japanese but have developed interests in Japanese subcultures, politics and theatre.
I look forward to seeing you in my class.

■Mr. John Blay

My name is John Blay. I am from Canada.
I have lived, worked and traveled on 5 continents of the world.
I have lived in Japan more than 25 years and continue to be very interested in Japanese history, culture and society.
I taught at a private Junior and Senior High school in Tokyo over 20 years. I taught at many Japanese corporations such as Mitsui Bussan, Bussan Fudosan, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Upjohn Pharmaceutical, Honda and others.
I studied and practiced several traditional Japanese martial arts in Tokyo. I
became very proficient in 3 of them, acquiring many black belts in aikido, iaido and shuriken. I was a teacher at a dojo in Tokyo.
I have been instructing at Fuji Academy about 10 years and have shared many good experiences with students including their joy at passing the tests and getting their license.
I look forward to meeting and interacting with you and helping you achieve your goals.
